This webinar will describe two planning processes for determining the supports that students need to participate in the same general education instruction as their classmates without disabilities. Examples will be provided from English language arts, math, social studies, and science in elementary, middle, and high school classrooms. In addition to describing the roles of special educators and related service providers, this webinar will provide examples of how natural support from classmates can help assure that all students are participating actively.
About the Presenter: Dr. Cheryl Jorgensen is an inclusive education consultant in private practice who specializes in student-specific consultation, team professional development, school-wide systems change, policy advocacy, and writing related to students with disabilities. Prior to her independent work, Cheryl was a project director with the UNH Institute on Disability and assistant research professor in UNH’s Education Department for 26 years.
